Website Setup Basic Steps
This is an extremely simplified set of steps to set up an internet marketing website business.
It is not meant to be an authority on the setup but just to give the most basic steps to those who are completely new. These are the people that this website is mainly trying to teach.
So lets get started.
THE VERY BASICS FOR SETTING UP A WEBSITE
1. Find a niche or subject that you would like to set up a website or blog for to start your business or fun site with. You may just want to have a personal site where you just set it up like diary telling the world how you feel and what you would like to share. There are many posts on here about how to find a niche. Look under the “NICHE” category.
2. Choose and register a domain name. This is preferably using the name in some way of your niche. Use your main “keyword” if possible within your website name. There are many domain name registrars and several of them will be discussed under the “DOMAINS” category. There are ways to setup free sites, mainly blogs and we will discuss those under the “BLOGGING” category.
3. Decide on a hosting site, that is the web server who will show your site to the world. You need to upload your site to this server who then allows it to be seen on the internet. Look under the “HOSTING” category.
4. Next you need to plan your sites legal requirements sufficient to satisfy the legal authorities that you are complying with the rules. Look under the “LEGAL” category. If you are not sure what I mean by this look at my About, Contact and Disclaimers Pages as an example.
5. Decide on what sort of site you want. Do you want a static site or a blog? Look under “BASICS of WEBSITE BUILDING” category.
6. A general layout plan of your site is a good idea if you are going to have many categories. Just a pencil layout on some paper will make it easier to keep order in your pages. Look in the “PLANNING and TIME MANAGEMENT” category.
7. Write some basic articles to start your site. You will base these articles around keywords related to your niche. Look under “ARTICLE WRITING” and “KEYWORD TOPICS” categories.
8. Choose a theme or template that matches your site. There are many websites that have ready designed templates and themes or builders such as XSitePro where they are built in for you to choose. Without getting ahead of ourselves there are those that are already commercially optimized for the web. You will see them advertised as SEO optimized.We will discuss this topic under “SEO” category but the category for this particular step is under “WEBSITE BUILDING SOFTWARE”. Depending on your choice will decide the steps to uploading your first articles to the web.
9. There are many other steps to the basics of website building and internet marketing and these will be search engine optimization(SEO) , link building, monetization,website security and many other topics. You can take this as far as you want. Its fascinating and addictive !
As this is a new site I hope you will forgive the fact that some of the categories above have no articles at the moment. Eventually there will be hundreds, so I hope you will have a little patience for a while as I add them. I assure you that it will be worthwhile in the long run.
